The fight is on! Samsung just released this ad for their new Samsung Galaxy SII phone. In the ad, Samsung pokes fun at people (clad mostly in plaid shirts, hoodies, and thick plastic-rim glasses) waiting in line for hours outside Apple stores across the country to get the new iPhone while making remarks like “If it looks the same, how will people know I upgraded?”
The hipster crowd catches a glimpse of someone on the street with a non-iPhone, and marvels at the magnificent size of the screen and the lighting-fast 4G speed–only to be dumbfounded when they discover it’s a Samsung. “I could never get a Samsung, I’m creative” one of the Apple cronies scoffs. “Dude, you’re a barista,” his friend corrects.
So, based on this ad, what does the Samsung Galaxy S II have that the iPhone does not?

What do you think? Can Samsung overcome their image problem and win over the hipster crowd? Would YOU switch?
