The illusion of depth. Now, that sounds like a subtitle for a new Matrix film. But it’s an app, because there’s an app for everything nowadays.
New 3D imaging iPhone apps can add another dimension to your photos, giving them an illusion of depth. Making 3D pictures requires a small amount of practice on your part, as you need to find the angles (one for the right eye and another for the left) which work best when you combine the two to create that perfect 3D image. Most apps sell for around $1.99, but there are some interesting ones sold for only for $.99, as well! You just need to look around to find the right one that matches your taste. Here are some cool apps you should know about while shopping around:
“3D Camera” app is sold at the iPhone app store and is only $1.99. The images can filter with grey or color anaglyph. “3D Camera” is perhaps the most popular of standard 3D apps because there are no glasses needed! Right after the image filters are created, watch your image pop out in front of you!
“3D Photo” is very chic. The app allows you to view your images as fragmented pieces, where you rotate the images to see them in various viewpoints. It also includes a “preview mode,” which allows you to align the images so the stereoscopic image they both create can be perfected. Just beware as the app may crash from time to time. But overall it is worth the $.99 because viewing your images in multi-faceted geometric shapes and patterns is astounding.
Another great 3D app is the “Penki app,” which is unique among 3D iPhone apps: in long exposure photos, the words and messages can be seen as the phone is dragged in front of the camera.
