The National Defence Authorization Act of 2012

Is the U.S. becoming the Germany of 1933?

Signed on New Years Eve last year by President Barack Obama when everyone was distracted, a usual ploy by this president, what seems like one of the most controversial bills in U.S. history is still not receiving the attention that it should. So, let’s talk about it…

Here it is as I understand it:

This new NDAA has a new provision (1021) in it that makes it legal for the President/Military to arrest without warrant and detain anyone, any U.S. citizen indefinitely without trial, without a Lawyer in a Military facility.

The Plaintiffs in the case,  Chris Hedges, Daniel EllsbergNoam Chomsky, Birgitta Jónsdóttir, Jennifer “Tangerine” Bolen, Kai Wargalla and Alexa O’Brien had taken the Obama administration to court and won an injunction striking down the new provisions thanks to U.S. District Judge Katherine Forrest, but the Department of Justice filed an emergency appeal. An Emergency Appeal which means what? That the government is already using this power against its own citizens? … It was upheld. Journalists… Look out! Same with protesters.

It has a lot of journalists very nervous because as Alexa O’Brien said in her fantastic letter A letter to my family and friends about the NDAA and me

“I am reassured to know that you have my back, and that you have done everything to prevent the US Government from threatening to detain me indefinitely without charge for my work as a journalist and citizen.”

“When the US Government said in Federal Court that they would not guarantee that I would not be indefinitely detained without charge under Section 1021 of the National Defense Authorization Act FY2012 for articles I had written on the ‘War on Terror’, you set aside partisanship. You realized that what is as stake is more than an election. What was at stake is the safety of your friend, your daughter, a fellow citizen or journalist, as well as this nation and people across the globe. The NDAA, after all, was passed with bi-partisan support, and signed into law by President Obama.”

President Obama swore he would veto this bill. He signed it. Will he use this far reaching power? Is he already using it? What will the next President do with it? This isn’t meant as a piece against Obama in support of some other candidate and Romney already said publicly that he would have signed it. Will this be discussed in any debates coming up? The debates – infomercials. Packaged Presidents and Candidates being sold to you like any other product. It’s not an election any more, it’s an auction. The tough questions are never asked. Election after election they pretty much talk about the same thing – Taxes, Healthcare, Jobs, Taxes, Healthcare, Jobs, Taxes, Healthcare, Jobs,  I will bring the troops home! Of course those things are important, but there are sometimes bigger issues and bigger questions, but we have a corrupt mainstream media that won’t cover them.

Taxes, Healthcare, Jobs, Taxes… we’re sending more troops overseas!

The NDAA is increasingly being compared to Hitler’s ‘Enabling Act’ of 1933 in Germany. Of course that is a big comparison to make, but what if…? And because this is such a sensitive issue, again I encourage people to do their own research and make their own conclusions.

So, I ask you, Dear Reader … is the U.S. becoming the Germany of 1933? Have we not learned anything? Increasingly this administration is targeting journalists, whistleblowers and protesters. Hearing about raids by SWAT teams seems like a daily thing now like the one here. Are we approaching The Night Of The Long Knives 2.0?

Taxes, Healthcare, Jobs, Taxes… Big Bird!

First they came for the socialists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.

    I repeat: yep ! Welcome Americans to 1933 !!!
And yes, we didn’t learn anything, but our governments obviously did !! NDAA is one of the most scariest thing I heard about lately!

Remember Hitler was supported by the 1% of Germany. Because they hated “Democracy-Unions”. The major churches supported Hitler
Because they hated the “Communists. Congress in loaded with “Millionaire’s.”
This is America’s ENABELING ACT. A “STATE OF WAR EXISTS BETWEEN OUR DEMOCRACY AND A “FASIST GOVERNMENT”.
