Gizmodo, a highly popular technology news and digital culture website has partnered with Intel to present an exhibition celebrating a collection of photographs from The Intel-Inspired Ultrabook Shooting Challenge. The Shooting Challenge is an ongoing Gizmodo feature that allows readers to experiment with a new photography theme every week.
The Intel-Inspired Ultrabook Shooting Challenge expanded the contest to professionals– Taylor Davidson, Diana Levine, Douglas Sonders, Ryan Russell, Scott Rinckenberger, and Steven Taylor–who ventured to six different cities, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their creative process and how the Ultrabooks enhanced their experiences. And now InstaDerby, a popular Instagram-powered contest experience, is getting in on the action by encouraging followers to vote on submissions and has developed its very own specialized contest that encourages you to take pictures of whatever inspires you in your city during the week of Nov. 12-19. Just submit your shots under the hashtags #mycity and #instaderby for a chance to win an Ultrabook.
An exhibition of the six photographers along with looping film footage of the artists’ behind the scenes experienceswill be free and open to the public at 329 Broome Street between Bowery & Chrystie Street in Manhattan, Nov. 15, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. And a panel discussing photography and inspiration with the featured photographers will be held on Nov.15 from 6:00-6:30 p.m. Photos submitted to InstaDerby via #mycity and #instaderby will be shown on a digital display in the gallery. Visitors will be able to vote for InstaDerby live at the gallery with on-site Ultrabooks.
