Award-winning National Geographic and Magnum Photos photographer Steve McCurry recently sat down with fashion blogger Scott Schuman, or as he’s more famously known, The Sartorialist, to share his method and process. While Scott’s own photography mainly focuses exclusively on fashion, the artistry of McCurry’s travel photography is undeniably powerful in its universal appeal to human emotion. Put simply, no matter what you’re photographing, it’s worth taking a look. Scott’s five-part web video series covers how McCurry handles imperfect lighting conditions, his photographic influences, being in tune with the cultural codes of his shoot locations, and the importance of taking your time to get into a rhythm.
