The sixth Open Show NY will take place this Thursday, April 25 at Calumet in New York City. Open Show NY is the New York City branch of the global network Open Show, which provides a forum for photographers, filmmakers and multimedia producers to share their work and converse with one another and the public.
The shows usually consist of five curated presenters, selected from a varied group of students to prize-winning professionals, who display and talk about either a group of photos or a short film. The audience is then encouraged to ask questions and give feedback. The show accepts a wide range of genres from journalism to art to historical.
The presenters at the sixth Open Show NY will be the following: Andrew Lichtenstein, a documentary photographer; Christopher Guess, also a documentary photographer; David Dilillo, a filmmaker; Emine Ziyatdinova, a documentary photographer; and Nancy Siesel, an award-winning photojournalist.
The show will take place from 7-9 pm at Calumet, 22 W. 22nd St., in New York City. The show is free, though donations are encouraged.
