When the social media greats come together for a greater good, things go hard. Just a few days after Jerome Jarre launched #TurkishAirlinesHelpSomalia, everything he dreamed of came true, raising 2 million dollars to provide relief to Somalia.

After getting off the phone with a volunteer in Somalia last Wednesday, Jerome published a 2.5 minute video on social media to convince Turkish Airlines to let him use one of their flights to Somalia, and fill it with food and water. After just a couple of hours, Turkish Airlines agreed, pledging a 60 ton cargo flight on March 27, and additional room for shipments on commercial flights in the following months. YouTube star Casey Neistat was there to document this extraordinary sequence of events:

Once they secured the flights, Jerome and Casey, alongside actor Ben Stiller, football player Colin Kaepernick and YouTuber Juanpa Zurita, needed money to fill the planes with food, water and supplies. So Jerome launched GoFundMe page #LoveArmyForSomalia, hoping to raise $1 million in 10 days. Nineteen hours after launching, their goal was met.

But that doesn’t mean the fundraising is over. In his latest social media post, Jerome clarifies that the first $1 million will be used as promised and planned, but everything after that will be used for sustainable, long-term solutions with a focus on water. To get the absolute most out of this, Jerome has now launched #NominatedForSomalia.

Hoping to exponentially grow his “Love Army,” Jerome asks everyone who donates to nominate three other people to also donate. For himself, Jerome picked Logan Paul, Gary Vaynerchuk and John Shahidi. This is a social media wildfire, a movement that will do so much more than just raise awareness. Ben Stiller is also already working a documentary surrounding the movement, according to Jerome.
