INTERESTED IN AN INTERNSHIP?

We offer internship positions in the following fields:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

-Must bring your own laptop

-Must be able to commit to a minimum of 3 days a week for 3 months

-Must be available for the full office hours of 10am to 6pm

-Graphic Design interns must be familiar with inDesign, photoshop, illustrator.

-Video editing Interns must be familiar with Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will vary depending on the candidate’s strengths and interests.

Area-specific responsibilities include:

-Photography: Photo assisting; taking reference, test, or general photos of editorial subjects or locations; shooting behind the scenes on Resource shoots and at events; research and pre-production for photo shoots.

-Writing: Editing content; content/subject research; writing short pieces or intros for the magazine; writing press releases, newsletters, teasers, scripts and email templates.

-Web design: Assisting our web designer in the design and development of any Resource Magazine website. Programs used include Flash, Dreamweaver, WordPress and more.

-Graphic Design: Working side by side with our Art Director, assisting in creating the final layout of the magazine. Other responsibilities may include promotional material design.

-Video: Operating the camera; shooting after hour events and interviews; editing.

-Marketing/ Social Media/ Event Promotion: Marketing for any or all of the various companies run by Resource Magazine; information blasts through social media networks; event promotion; new tactical solutions for spreading information and working side by side with the marketing team to accomplish the various tasks at hand.

General responsibilities include:

-Administrative: Reception functions (phones, mail, faxing, supply orders, etc.)

-Advertising: Updating databases; conducting media research; media kit mailings

-Promotions: Planning and execution of promotional events

-Editorial: Researching and developing editorial content

WORTHY TO NOTE:

-The Resource Magazine office is located in DUMBO, Brooklyn (Take the F train to York St.) -Resource Magazine is unable to sponsor students needing H1 Visas at this time.

-Resource Magazine is an equal opportunity employer.

-The internship encompasses a minimum of the three months in which an issue of Resource Magazine is produced so that you can experience the entire turnaround of an issue.

-You will be working very closely with the editors and staff of Resource Magazine to fulfill your educational needs.

-We encourage our interns to get their hands dirty and be part of the magazine, so don’t worry, you’ll be doing a lot more than getting coffee!
